Her audition was aired during the March 5 episode, where she performed in front of judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy. The judges were amazed at her youthful appearance with Luke saying she looked only 16. The 25-year-old contestant laughed and replied, “You guys are my favorite. I have three kids.”
Her revelation shocked Katy. She got up and slowly melted onto the desk. Sara said, “If Katy lays on the table, I think I’m going to pass out.”
Katy sat back on her chair and joked, “Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much.”
The California native shared on TikTok, “It was embarrassing to have that on TV. It was hurtful. I think that women supporting and uplifting other women is so cool and I think that mom shaming is super lame. I think that it’s hard enough to be a mom and it’s hard enough to be a woman.”
Sara Beth has three children: Kellin, Willow, and Ellie. She also expressed her gratitude to all the mothers out there who offered their support. She said, “I see all of the young moms, and just moms in general, who have commented on all of the videos and posts and everything. I just wanted to say that I see you and I hear you and I am grateful for you and you’re worthy. Keep loving your babies.”
With regard to her audition, she intended to sing “Bennie and the Jets” by Elton john. However, she explained her voice wasn’t cooperating so she decided to sing “You Know I’m No Good” by Amy Whitehouse instead.
After completing the song, Katy pointed out, “That’s not enough. Try ‘Bennie and the Jets.'”
She decided to give it a try and her rendition of the classic song earned a standing ovation from Luke. In the end, it paved the way for her to earn her golden ticket to Hollywood.
