Pete Davidson has decided not to include his ex, Kim Kardashian, on his jokes as he returns to “Saturday Night Live” for the first time after two weeks.
A source told Page Six that the comedian will be a “good sport” as he talks about his love life but would keep Kim out of it. The source said, “He’s being a gentleman.”
The former couple shared an onscreen kiss when Kim hosted SNL. They were first romantically linked in October 2021 and dated for nine months after calling it quits in August 2022. Both agreed to “drop everything” and “move on.”
The source added, “That’s why she’s not mentioned in his stand-up.”
Their romance was off to a good start but things turned for the worst when Kim’s ex-husband, Kanye West, repeatedly attacked the comedian on social media. The rapper even released a video for his track “Eazy” featuring him kidnapping and burying a cartoon version of the “King of Staten Island” star.
Moreover, he rapped about “beating Pete Davidson’s ass” and went as far as posting a fake New York Times front page with the headline, “SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT AGE 28.”
Meanwhile, the source continued about his plans for the show, “[He’s respecting the fact] her team is so protective of her image and it was so volatile from Kanye’s side.”
Pete has been open about battling with mental health issues and even sought “trauma therapy” after the incidents with Kanye.
He also talked about having “SNL” making fun of his love life while he was hosting. He told the “Real Ones” podcast, “When your own show [pokes fun at you]. . . Then you’ve gotta walk out and do a sketch next and hit your mark and the show just made fun of you. . And you’re like, ‘I’m a fucking loser, man.’”
Pete dated several celebrities before Kim including singer Ariana Grande, model Kaia Gerber, and actress Phoebe Dynevor.
He went saying that, “nobody ever showed more leeway and grace to me than [‘SNL’ creator] Lorne Michaels, and I owe my life to that guy, but it was fucking confusing cause the nature of entertainment is the nature of this business. At the end of the day, that’s what it is. This was a really difficult thing to do. You feel small. You feel super insecure.”
However, another source claimed that when show time comes, it won’t be surprising to have some Kardashian jokes thrown in.
The source said, “Nothing has been written yet, but know with Pete nothing is off the table.” says another source.
Pete will return to SNL on may 6 after attending the Met Gala. He’s currently dating actress Chase Sui Wonders. He’s also busy promoting his new Peacock show, “Bupkis.”
