The Saturday Night Live comedian and the reality star crossed paths on May 1 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They were photographed together with Usher in the star-studded party.
Pete was dressed in Fendi while Kim wore a stunning beaded Schiaparelli gown. The Met Gala is actually a special for the two of them because they first met on the same event in May 2021.
Kim told Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast last year, “He had been asking around for my number a little bit. I saw him at the Met and he knew I was hosting SNL, but it wasn’t announced yet. He came up to me and we were talking about SNL.”
That time Kim had difficulties giving him her number because of the gloves she was wearing with her Balenciaga outfit. However, the two met again in October 2021 when she hosted SNL. During the sketch comedy show, the two shared an onscreen kiss when portraying Disney’s Jasmine and Aladdin on their magic carpet ride. According to Kim, that kiss sparked “a little zing” in her mind. It didn’t take long before the two started dating.
“When we kissed, I was just like, ‘Hmm!'” the SKIMS founder recalled. “A few days later, I was like, ‘Hmm, there is some BDE action.”
Kim and Pete attended the Met Gala last year where she wore the controversial Marilyn Monroe dress designed by Bob Mackie. Their unforgettable date night was even documented and shown on an episode of The Kardashians.
“Remember when I asked for your number at the last Met and you pretended that you couldn’t give it to me because you had gloves on?” Pete asked.
Kim answered, “I know. Will you ask me again this time? I don’t have gloves on.”
However, their romance didn’t last long. They broke up in August. There’s no bad blood between the two and they had love and respect for each other. Their demanding schedules was one of the main reasons why their relationship didn’t work out.
Presently, Pete is in a relationship with Chase Sui Wonders, his Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star.
As for Kim, she’s not in a hurry to go back to the dating scene. She’s prioritizing her kids and finishing law school.
