Many celebrities have been expressing their thoughts on social media about the upcoming U.S. election and one of them is Taylor Swift.

The multi-awarded singer took to Instagram on Wednesday to inform her followers that she is endorsing Joe Biden for president and Kamala Harris for vice president. She also posted a photo of V Magazine’s cover which, of course, features her. She said that she spoke with the said publication about her reasons for supporting Joe Biden in the presidential race. Her post also included her photo with Biden/Harris 2020 cookies.

“So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate. Gonna be watching and supporting @kamalaharris by yelling at the tv a lot. And I also have custom cookies,” she wrote.

Further, the songstress also discussed with V Magazine the changes she hoped to see once the election is over. She said, “The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included.

She added, “Everyone deserves a government that takes global health risks seriously and puts the lives of its people first.”

The 30-year-old singer also mentioned in her documentary, Miss Americana, on why it was vital for people to speak out politically although her team and family were against it.

She said, “This was a situation where, from a humanity perspective, and from what my moral compass was telling me I needed to do, I knew I was right, and I really didn’t care about repercussions. Every time I didn’t speak up about politics as a young person, I was applauded for it. It was wild. I said, ‘I’m a 22-year-old girl — people don’t want to hear what I have to say about politics.’ And people would just be like, ‘Yeahhhhh!”

This isn’t the case anymore as Taylor Swift together with other celebrities like Chris Evans, Kerry Washington, Hailey Bieber, and more are encouraging Americans to vote by emphasizing the importance of having their voices heard.
