Katy Perry is Getting Back to Work After Giving Birth

Katy Perry is ready to go back to work!

The American Idol judge is ready to join her fellow judges on the fourth season of the singing competition program. The new mom talked with Rachel Smith of Entertainment Tonight about how she’s feeling leaving baby Daisy Dove at home to start working again.

The singer said, “It’s amazing. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and for this job, and to be able to continue to inspire other people to go after their dreams. I mean, my life just feels very full and whole. And you know, it’s hard a little bit these first couple of days away and not being able to be there.”

But who’ll be taking good care of little Daisy? None other than her daddy, Orlando Bloom. The singer said that she’s seen the Bjorn on him and saw him with the bottle as well. She explained she’s seen all the pictures and it’s all good.

Perry and Bloom welcomed Daisy on August 26. They announced her arrival by posting a black and white photo of her little hand holding her mom’s finger. However, the couple hasn’t posted a full photo of their daughter yet.

Bloom was interviewed during The Ellen DeGeneres show on Wednesday. According to him, Daisy has her mom’s blue eyes but he’s still unsure if their takes on his looks or that of her mom’s.

He said, “My little mini-me, slash mini my mom, slash mini-Katy. It was funny because when she first came out I was, ‘Oh it’s me, it’s a mini-me!’ Then fortunately she got those Katy blues, which was perfect.”

The host asked him about how he bonds with his daughter and he answered that when Perry was still pregnant, he used to chant a Buddhist mantra that he learned at 16.

“I would wake up in the morning and [chant], which is what I do anyway every morning,” he explained to DeGeneres. “So now, I walk into the room and [Daisy] hears my voice and she sort of soothes a bit. She likes it, she responds very nicely. It’s like I’m a baby whisperer. I’m definitely winning the daddy points.”
