Chris Pratt is under fire after being dragged online just because he did not participate in the Avengers reunion in support for Joe Bidden, Democratic presidential nominee and former vice president of the U.S.
On Tuesday, his Marvel co-star Robert Downey Jr. took to Instagram to show his support for the actor. He posted, “What a world… The ‘sinless’ are casting stones at my brother, Chris Pratt… A real Christian who lives by principle, has never demonstrated anything but positivity and gratitude… AND he just married into a family that makes space for civil discourse and (just plain fact) INSISTS on service as the highest value. If you take issue with Chris,,, I’ve got a novel idea. Delete your social media accounts, sit with your OWN defects of character, work on THEM, then celebrate your humanness… @prattprattpratt I #gotyerbackbackback.”
Pratt didn’t speak publicly as to who he’s supporting during the election. However, many noticed his absence during the said reunion which led fans to believe he is supporting the current president, Donald Trump. They also brought up that the Guardians of the Galaxy star is a member of the Hillsong Church.
In addition to Downey, Mark Ruffalo also defended the actor by tweeting, “You all, @prattprattpratt is as solid a man there is. I know him personally, and instead of casting aspersions, look at how he lives his life. He is just not overtly political as a rule. This is a distraction. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize, friends. We are so close now.”
Another actor, Josh Gad, also came to Pratt’s defense by seconding Ruffalo’s comment and retweeting it.
While Pratt remained silent, his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger didn’t. She happened to share her own opinions on another online discussion about her husband. An Instagram post claimed that Pratt is the “worst Hollywood Chris” and she responded by writing, “Is this really what we need. There’s so much going on in the world and people are struggling in so many ways. Being mean is so yesterday. There’s enough room to love all these guys. Love is what we all need not meanness and bullying. Let’s try that.”
Meanwhile, Pratt hasn’t commented yet regarding this matter.
