Her journey towards attaining her musical freedom started in July last year after Scooter Braun bought the rights to her records which were recorded with Big Machine. The singer believed it wasn’t right so she wrote an open letter where she condemned both Braun and Big Machine. Her action started a highly public feud between her and them.

According to the multi-awarded singer, she may not own her original songs but her contracted stated that she was allowed to re-record them in the future. She then announced that she intended to re-record her first five albums starting this month.

As of Sunday, November 1, the Grammy winner is legally permitted to re-record latest versions of her first five albums. Fans are more than happy that she’s given this kind of freedom of owning her own music.

A Twitter user wrote, “NOVEMBER IS HERE! This is the month I’ve been most looking forward to since like July/August last year and I’m so excited!!! Taylor can re-record 🥺 #TaylorIsFree TAYLOR IS FREE. Meanwhile, another fan wrote, “The whole world was waiting for this moment #TaylorIsFree”

Another fan posted, “The whole year felt like a whirlwind and now finally TAYLOR IS FREE. We all will be deleting all of her old music from our playlists and apps and will only be streaming Taylor’s art owned by Taylor. That’s it.”

In case that the songstress will re-record her first five albums namely Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, and 1989, it will shed new light on music rights ownership and a historic direction for Swift’s career as an artist.

Swift confirmed that she planned to re-record her earlier songs when she  spoke with Robin Roberts in August 2019. She said, “That’s true and it’s something that I’m very excited about doing because my contract says that starting November 2020, so next year, I can record albums one through five all over again. She added, “I’m very excited about it. I just think that artists deserve to own their own work. I just feel very passionately about that.”

Since August last years, Swift was able to drop two new albums namely, Lover and folklore which she released last July.
